There are a few changes you can make to this build from weapons to Champion Points. I tested both lightning staff and dual wield and dual wield performed marginally better but both are viable options. The main upside to the lightning staff is the ability to build ultimate from range; other than that, I would recommend dual wield if you are ok with a slightly more tedious method of building ultimate.
You can run sharpened weapons front bar if you feel you are lacking some pen but remember the less crit chance you have the less damage you will get out of The Shadow mundus on average.
You can also run this as a stamina spec if you want to run whirling blades instead of sap essence but building into max mag is the optimal route for damage on nightblade due to your siphoning passive (8% more max magicka). The idea behind the build is to one shot stacks of players with dawnbreaker + proxy det so you will have to get the timing down regardless of your choice of a stamina or magicka based build.
