Esperanto : A Language no one Owns | Giridhar Rao | TEDxMahindraÉcoleCentrale

Mr. Giridhar Rao went in depth into the constructed language of Esperanto. Through words of common use, sentences of common occurrences and poems of celebrated poets, Mr. Rao showed the simplicity of Esperanto, how it eliminates the language barrier while being so easy to grasp and learn.  After a childhood of reading science fiction, A. Giridhar Rao did a PhD on SF at University of Hyderabad. This led him to the planned language Esperanto, and later to study multilingualism in society. At Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, he teaches courses on literature in school education, language policy and pedagogy, linguistic human rights, Esperanto and linguistic democracy, and science fiction.
