Midsomer Murders follows Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby (John Nettles) as he solves crimes in the wealthy, isolated English county of Midsomer. Midsomer appears as a picturesque, peaceful place on the outside, but its villages are deadly. DCI Tom Barnaby is later replaced by his younger cousin John Barnaby (Neil Dudgeon) after John’s retirement. Assisting in these cases are Detective Sergeants Gavin Troy (Daniel Casey), Dan Scott (John Hopkins), Ben Jones (Jason Hughes), Charlie Nelson (Gwilym Lee) and Jamie Winter (Nick Hendrix). Jane Wymark and Barry Jackson also star in this detective drama adapted from the novels Chief Inspector Barnaby created by Caroline Graham.
