Q1 Nifty Results a mixed bag on outlook

Q1 earnings season has been a mixed bag, while quite a few companies saw there profits come under pressure, some of the sectors like Information Technology, FMCG, Pharma reported better than expected earnings. Of the 50 Nifty earnings nearly 33 companies reported their earnings so far, IT players painted a positive outlook, quite a few FMCG players posted better than expected volume growth especially from Rural India.

Capital goods, Steel, Cement & Auto companies posted weak earnings, and guided that they will watch out for pick up in demand. While Banks and NBFC players did see a decline in moratorium most saw a decline in fresh disbursements, with management stating that a clear asset quality picture will emerge only once moratorium ends.
