"A New Image of Africa"
"A New Image of Africa" is a revolutionary initiative to change how we see the continent, highlighting its resilience, innovation, and economic strength. It invites young people to share their stories, challenging outdated stereotypes of Africa. The last topic of the series is "cultural wealth".
Africa's rich cultural heritage is a unique selling point. Investors can explore opportunities in tourism, hospitality, and cultural exchanges. By highlighting the vibrant traditions, diverse languages, and unique art forms, the aim is to attract those who appreciate and want to contribute to preserving and celebrating Africa's cultural wealth.
There is no better person to speak on this topic than Magatte Wade. Magatte came up with the idea to start a beverage company when she visited her native Senegal and found that cola had replaced traditional hibiscus drinks. Worried that the drinks and the heritage would be lost, Wade approached Greg Steltenpohl, who had recently left as head of Odwalla Inc. Other than that, she has featured on TED Talk and multiple platforms speaking on excessive regulatory environment in Africa which forces young Africans to emigrate for economic reasons.
