Boston Pops show marks historic '1812' anniversary

That combination of the Boston Pops and fireworks – was an idea from David Mugar. Fifty years ago, he partnered with renown pops conductor Arthur Fiedler to create the event we know today. A statue memorializing Mugar includes what he told Fiedler – "you bring the music, I'll bring the fireworks."
