2014 Ridler Award Winner JF Launier talks to Kevin Tetz (Trucks!, Hands-On Cars) about his incredible '64 Riviera than won the Ridler Award. 2014 Ridler Award Winner JF Launier talks to Kevin Tetz (Trucks!, Hands-On Cars) about his incredible '64 Riviera than won the Ridler Award. He calls this yellow masterpiece "Rivision" and not only did he win the biggest award in the industry, he has also drag raced the car and took it on road courses! The first Ridler winner to see any type of action like that. Plus, not only is he the winner, but he's also the builder. JF may be the first winner to be both the owner and builder in about 40 years. JF even used Eastwood ElastiWrap to protect his quarter panels when racing. ElastiWrap is a removable rubber coating that is sprayed on the car - either in aerosol or from gallons. You can do an entire car, lay stripes, or, like JF did, apply it behind the rear tires so the rubber peels off easily when your done racing.
This Riviera features a ton of awesome modifications including the attention-grabbing intake system for the turbo-chargers that runs through the interior - and looks like an exhaust. You gotta check it out because it had more people scratching there heads at SEMA, wondering why someone would run exhaust through the interior...until they realized it was actually intake for the turbos, which are in the rear of the car.
