The Columbia 350 started as an experimental aircraft from Lancair. In 1998, the 350 model was certified and became one of the fastest single piston engine aircraft in the world at the time. Still is. But this airplane has been through some rough times as it’s exchanged hands multiple times and due to high competition from the Likes of Cirrus SR22, both the Columbia company and Cessna who later bought could remain in a highly competitive personal airplane market.
