New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro V7 First Run Review | A solid trail shoe that lacks versatility

The Hierro line is New Balance’s reliable trail go-to if your focus is comfort, stability and grip. Balancing comfort with protection, the Hierro V7 uses Fresh Foam X foam in the midsole for cushioning and covers that with a generous layer of Vibram Megagrip outsole rubber to protect the feet, improve durability and provide a high level of grip - thanks in addition to a clever lug design.

The mesh upper is built to offer both support and breathability when out on the trails and includes reinforced sections to protect the feet from debris and obstacles. There’s also a gusseted tongue to improve the fit and stop dirt from getting inside the shoe.
