Puebla de Zaragoza (2024) is the fourth largest city of Mexico after Mexico City (CMX), Monterrey, and Guadalajara. Puebla is the capital city of the state of Puebla and has a population of 3,250,000 in its metropolitan area. The city was founded in 1531. Puebla is well known for the Renaissance style of the colonial buildings, the Mexican Baroque, the Cathedral and the car industry. In 1987 the city was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many car companies have production facilities in Puebla like Volkswagen and Audi. Some highlights of the city are the Puebla Cathedral, the Casa de Alfeñique, Teatro Principal, the Town Hall, the San Francisco church and the Estrella de Puebla.
