This is the sixth and (for now at least) final part of my series of videos on Apollonius of Perga's Treatise on Conic Sections.

In this video I cover some propositions from Apollonius concentrating on diameters and axes. These propositions are proved using the usual techniques of ration and proportion, similarity and congruence.

This video will bring us (more or less) to the end of Book II of the Treatise at which point I think I have achieved what I originally set out to achieve which was to present an introduction to Apollonius and his work and I leave it for anyone who is interested to take up the challenge of working through the rest of the books of the Treatise to discover the rest for themselves. The techniques that I have presented in my videos are the techniques that Apollonius continues to use - the only difference is the way in which Apollonius applies the techniques to get some fascinating results (Book III is a good book by the way).
