Carl Weathers, well known for
Carl Weathers, well known for his role as Apollo Creed in the Rocky movies, has died aged 76.
His manager confirmed the actor and former American footballer died peacefully at home.
Mr Weathers debuted on the silver screen in 1975, in the blaxploitation film ‘Bucktown’.
He became a star playing the cocky boxing champ Apollo Creed in first Rocky film, which went on to win three Academy Awards – including Best Picture.
In 2019, Weathers found a new young audience in the popular Star Wars series 'The Mandalorian'.
