Walking through Nahuku Thurston Lava tube trail in Volcanoes NP | Big Island Hawaii

Join me for a walk as we visit Nahuku/Thurston lava tube in Volcanoes national park. This trail is easy and is only 0.5 mile long. The lava tube is 500 years old!

***Apologies, the first couple Clermontia you see is the Clermontia Hawaiiensis (light green/white flower).

Clermontia parvaflora also known as 'Oha wai can be seen everywhere in this area! This plant species is endemic to Hawaii and important to our forest especially to our native forest birds.
