I’ve always been interested in movement and dance. From my early days when I was in college, and I said I want to be a dancer. I’m going to California, I mean, that was one of those freedom moments. I just loved it.
You know, when I had to start wearing glasses, that was a real imitation for me. And then I noticed driving home at night and being startled by, you know, the brightness of the lights and I was a little frightened.
You know you trust your surgeon and he asked me what I wanted, and I said I don’t want to wear glasses. I want my far vision, my mid vision, and my reading vision. He said, “I have the perfect lens for you – it’s the Tecnis Synergy™ lens”. When someone offered me the freedom to not have the glasses… Oh yeah!
This was a new phase of my life – the colors and contrast, the leaves in the sky. Everything felt sparkly and cleaner. The nice part about now in terms of ease of living, if you will, I can stand in front of my mirror to do my make up. Looking at a menu in a restraint and I can just pick it up and read the print. Or signing a form, if the print is really small on the form, I just read it.
Overall, without glasses, I feel younger. I know that sounds silly because I know I am not. It just feels unencumbered, it feels freer. It felt really good to start dancing again and not have to deal with the glasses.
I like to say I was a disco dancer all through the 70’s and now I’m 70 and still doing the disco dance.
That’s 70? That’s not even middle age, right? So, what is that? Is that old age? I don’t think so!
