EMN Belgium Presidency Conference (25 June)

This European Migration Network (EMN) Conference intends to present the work done by the European Commission and the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU to operationalise and implement the New Pact on Migration and Asylum, while, at the same time, launching the debate on the upcoming steps to make the New Pact a reality.

This Conference is hosted by EMN Belgium together with its partners the Office of the Commissioner General for Refugees and Stateless Persons (CGRS), the Federal Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (Fedasil), the Immigration Office, and the Federal Migration Centre (Myria), and is funded by the European Union.

This first day will feature a comprehensive examination of the Pact from various perspectives, with a central focus on its operationalisation. Following a high-level debate on how to make the Pact work, attention will turn to the presentation of the Common Implementation Plan. Panel discussions will delve into key areas such as the innovative aspects of new solidarity mechanisms and the procedures implemented at the border.
