The classic Swedish almond cake
The classic Swedish almond cake with super delicious almond meringue bases and delicate vanilla-flavoured buttercream is easy to make yourself! It's easy with my step-by-step video, and you can conjure up a piece of Sweden for your next coffee table!

Ingredients a 24 cm diameter cake
▶️ For the custard buttercream:
150 g sugar
1 tsp vanilla flavouring
250 ml whipped cream
8 egg yolks
200 g room-warm butter
▶️ For the bases:
8 egg whites
1 good pinch of salt
180 g sugar
200 g ground almonds
▶️ For the decoration:
100 g roasted flaked almonds
reserve about 100 to 150 g of the buttercream for the optional rosettes
some icing sugar for dusting
