I am a big fan
I am a big fan of Cobus' drum covers and I noticed he uses a 20"Sabian Iso ride. I thought it seemed pretty interesting concept. Someone gave me this old Pro 20" Sabian ride, and since I usually play very thin cymbals I decided to try and modify it.
I wanted to do something that doesn't take a lot of special equipment to do. I thought it would cut out the bell frequency when I was riding on the edge but it didn't really do that. What it did do was isolate the bell from the rest of the cymbal when I am playing on the bell. I think that might be thanks to the hand hammering. So I might try to modify this more once I fix my hammer... Maybe do some more hand hammering around the outside.
