For the best quality coffee, it’s better to transfer your French press coffee to a thermos after brewing to get it off the grounds, but that’s more work than we’re willing to put in when in the great outdoors. A good outdoor use French press needs to be able to hold onto the heat so your second cup of coffee is satisfying on a cold morning. We also keep an eye on the price tags to find the coffee makers that deliver a good value.
To get the most of your coffee while camping, you should do some prep work at home to make it easier. Grind your coffee at home and pre-portion it into containers. This way you can just dump a portion of coffee into the pot with no need to measure on the spot.
