Why do autistics often seem oblivious to everything around them? There's a good reason that this often happens for many autistics - and it's called monotropism. But what is monotropism? And how could it be a major advantage? How does it connect to autistic special interests? That's what I'll talk about in this video. And if you're autistic, are you also monotropic? What are your experiences with monotropism? Be sure to share in the comments! ⤵️ Whether you are autistic, have an autistic friend, family member, or loved one, work with people on the autism spectrum, or are simply interested in learning more, this video has something for you. I'm here to provide the unique perspective of someone who is an autistic ADHDer and also an educator. We want to help people better understand autism and ADHD and support one another as well with the goal of improving communication and life in general for all of us in a neurodiverse world. ➡️ Remember to LIKE, SHARE, and SUBSCRIBE for more content, and hit the notification button 🔔 to be the first to know when new content arrives! ✨ Join our email list to get updates delivered straight to your inbox: chrisanddebby.mykajabi.com/join-us 📌 Timestamps: 0:00 Intro 1:04 Limiting Outside Distractions 4:27 Autistic Inertia 7:06 Dedication and Focus 8:58 New Ideas 10:40 Support Yourself/Someone Monotropic (What can you do?) 🎥 WATCH NEXT: 1. 5 Overlooked Signs of Autism:    • 5 Overlooked Signs of Autism   2. 5 Signs You Might Be Autistic:    • 5 Signs You Might Be Autistic   3. 7 Myths about Autism:    • Common Autistic Myths Busted   4.
