ESAB's Mechtrac is designed for automated welding of I-T or L beam profiles, straight columns or tapered columns in a fast, economical method using the MIG (GMAW) or Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) process.
Using the ICE™ (Integrated Cold Electrode) process for twin SAW, deposition rates are dramatically increased while reducing overall energy consumption, resulting in more efficient, streamlined production. With ICE technology, you use one power source, rather than the 2 power sources normally used with 2 wires. This saves money on the initial system cost. You still see the deposition rates you would normally see with tandem welding, but you only use one machine. This lowers production costs by eliminating the second power source.
