How to start/germinate Black Eyed Susans from seed. This video shows you planting depth, and a simple solution for cold/moist stratification by winter sowing Black Eyed Susan seed (Rudbeckia), and you can get a picture of what the seed looks like. This method works for pretty much any of the Rudbeckia species, but this seed in particular is for the biennial version of black eyed susan. This is wild seed that I gathered from some black eyed susans in November 2017. Just about all variations of Black Eyed Susan (Rudbeckia) prefer full sun, and do fine in a wide range of soil conditions. For North America, it is a tough and hardy plant.
