(26 Mar 2018) Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said the suspect in Friday's extremist attack in southern France was listed on the Fiche S, "because of his presumed links with the local salafist movement".
"Fiche S" is a government register of individuals suspected of being radicalised but who have yet to perform acts of extremism.
In a news conference concerning the killings in Trebes, Molins said that Radouane Lakdim had been followed security services in March 2018, but no evidence was found of early warning signs.
Moroccan-born gunman Lakdim, 25, was killed by police who stormed the supermarket.
Two people close to him, including his partner, were being detained Monday for questioning in the case.
Molins said his partner showed signs of being radicalised.
Three people were killed in a supermarket in Trebes, southern France, Friday, while a fourth person was killed earlier during a carjacking in the nearby city of Carcassonne.
IS claimed that the attacker was answering its call to target nations in the US-led coalition fighting IS militants in Syria and Iraq.
