Why Do Cinematic Bars Exist?

Cinematic bars are a form of post-production technique used to improve how well the film is received.
To draw your attention to the center of the image, it is customary to place a black overlay at the top and bottom of the frame.
This type of utilization of black bars is known as “letterboxing.” A video is referred to as “letterboxed” if there are black bars at the top and bottom of the screen.
These phrases may also be used when discussing films that are shown on screens with a different aspect ratio than the one for which they were designed.
Cinematic bars, sometimes known as letterboxing, are used for aesthetic purposes. They help filmmakers avoid stretching or cropping images to fit various screen sizes.
