ANDERTON BOAT LIFT

Episode 21

On this episode I setting off my travels from Dutton CRT moorings on Trent and Mersey Canal. And heading for Anderton where I will do the Boat Lift down to river Weaver.
Anderton Boat Lift has earned its nickname of Cathedral of the Canals for a very good reason.
It still do the job it was designed to do of lifting boats and barges 50ft from the River Weaver to Trent And Mersey Canal.

It took 2 years to build the boat lift in 1875. "canal and river trust"
