Yuvajanolsavam is one of the early films which made Mohanlal a superstar.
Mohanlal"s first film with me was Enikkum oru Divasam (1982).
Till then he enacted the role of a villain in almost all films.
He did a soft romantic role in Enikkum oru Divasam.
In 1983 I made Adhipathyam with Premnazir, Madhu, and Mohanlal in lead roles. The film made him a hero.With this knowledge I made the film Yuvajanolsavam. This is a different type of campus film.
My own college days are reflected in a few scenes.
In Yuvajanolsavam I introduced a new actor Suresh Bheemsingh.
He is the son of our beloved actress Sukumari and the great film director A.Bheemsingh..He is a wonderful actor...,but now he does not show interest in acting. Urvasi, Menaka,Sukumari,KPAC Lalitha,Ganeshkumar Asokan,Krishnachandran, Santhosh were other artistes. Suresh Gopi enacted the role of main villain.This is SuresGopi's second film. Raveendran's music was really enchanting.
Innumente kannuneeril, Padam namukku padaam , aa mukham kanda naal and Ashtapadi sung by Krishnachanran are the songs.
Yuvajanolsavam was a superhit.....The movie made both myself and Mohanlal happy. But I could not make another film with Mohanlal till date.....Why ? It did not happen. That is all.
