Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea Season 2, Episode 24 The Menfish First air date: March 6, 1966 Guest stars: Gary Merrill, John Dehner, Victor Lundin While Nelson is away, Crane tries to prevent Dr. Borgman from implanting human DNA into marine animals to create a new type of undersea creature. A couple of notes about this episode: Richard Basehart did not appear in this episode due to illness. Gary Merrill, who was filming the pilot for The Time Tunnel, substituted for Basehart as Admiral Park. Footage from this episode was also seen in the season three episode, "The Mermaid." This beautiful HDTV broadcast recording of a restored and remastered film surpasses the commercially-released DVD set and any other syndicated or network broadcasts of Voyage.
