Madder root is a natural
Madder root is a natural way to create vibrant orange & red hues for your textile and craft projects. The roots from this plant are popular in the dyer's world because of the bright color they bring to the dye pot. With a simple pH or iron shift, you can expand your palette to include coral and peach too. This tutorial will show you how to brew madder root dye to bring gorgeous colors to organic cotton produce bags to brighten up your trips to the grocery store. We'll alter the colors with an acidic/alkaline shift & iron water modification, and show the resulting color swatch samples (cotton & silk) with various pre-mordants.
