This tutorial shows how to add "Tag Folder" feature to Windows 10.
Step 1: Download Tag_Folder.bat from the link below.
- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ielP...
- Do your own due diligence by inspecting the batch file.
*Note: If your anti-virus detects a threat, see Jeffrey Wyman's comment below.
Step 2: Add "Tag Folder" to context menu
- Open Registry Editor
- Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell
- Create a new key “Tag Folder” and a sub-key “command”
- Enter cmd /c ”start /min yourpath\Tag_Folder.bat”
*Note: If yourpath contains blank spaces, see H.L. Mencken's comment below.
Step 3: Organize your folders with custom tags.
- Go to the folder you wish to tag.
- Right-click in the blank space and Click "Tag Folder"
- Enter your tag in the GUI input dialog box and Click OK.
- You may have to refresh several times to see your new tags.
*Note: If your folder name contains non-ASCII characters, see Miguel de Sousa's comment below.
