Engineering Office Dipl.Ing. Rolf Ofen from "IO - MQS - Consulting" (Measurement technique / Quality engineering / Seminars) Germany, showed in his presentation Why is it important to work with: Repeatable, Precise and Reliable #measurementProcesses.
Presentation consisted of all elements for a Correct assessment of measurement processes:
-Which MSA procedures are there?
-What are their performance and what are the restrictions?
-Requirements of the new Standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949)
-What are the differences to VDA 5 Capability of Measurement Processes...
As a summary, in comparison of MSA to VDA 5, Mr Ofen showed that:
-MSA capability studies are limited and suitable only for acceptance tests
-VDA 5: the entire measurement process can be assessed completely
-VDA 5 is able to fulfill the requirements of the standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and is a solution for the laboratory sector, as well as a simple, practical approach for the production area.
