Since online mattresses are nearly impossible to compare side-by-side, we created the mattress shop of the future by setting up 17 of the most popular ones in our New York City office. The mattresses included foam, innerspring, and hybrid (foam and spring) options, and our staff tested them for comfort, edge support, and motion transfer (see the toppling donut tower!), among other factors.
