"The New Dawn" by Serponge | Geometry Dash 2.2

The first proper 2.1 user level I uploaded was "Blue Rift II" by Serponge, so it feels like destiny that my first 2.2 one would be by him as well. While playtesting the update and testing the editor, I kept thinking how crazy the community would go with these tools, including many old creators like Serponge. I hoped people like him would come back, and it seems so judging by the names I've seen around. I can't wait to play more 2.2 levels!

Now, this is obviously a "quick" level considering the time it took to create. It also shows in the visuals at times, which are rather simple in detail. However, that does not mean the level isn't good. In fact, the simplicity adds even more to the main strength of this level: The atmosphere. You have an uneasy feeling playing this, and that uneasiness was definitely warranted given some of the surprising sound effects and transitions. For example, the sound effect at 0:53 definitely scared me while playing. I can't recall feeling this way playing a Geometry Dash level over the past decade. That makes it a worthy early 2.2 experience on its own.
