The Samsung Galaxy C9 (SM-C9000) has already been certified in China and in the U.S.; it also has been benchmarked on Geekbench and GFXBench. Apparently, that phone will have a big brother. Today, images of the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro have been discovered on China's Weibo site. Specs include a 6-inch screen with the just announced Snapdragon 653 chipset under the hood. That SoC comes with an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 510 GPU. 6GB of RAM is inside along with 64GB of native storage.
A 16MP rear-facing camera is on board along with a 16MP front-facing camera. Both have an aperture of f/1.9. The unit supports Samsung Pay using both NFC and MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission). It also comes with a Type-C USB port. Keeping the phone running is the 4000mAh battery on board, and Android 6.0.1 is pre-installed.
And if some of this is all sounding terribly familiar, the specs seem to match those belonging to the Oppo R9s Plus. In fact, both phones include the slot antenna design on the back. One difference is in the pricing. The Galaxy C9 Pro will be priced at the equivalent of $474 USD, $45 cheaper than Oppo's handset. It also will be offered in Gold and Rose Gold, and a fingerprint scanner is embedded in the home button. Android 6.0.1 is pre-installed with TouchWiz running on top (which is another difference compared to the Oppo R9s Plus). The Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro measures a svelte 6.9mm thin.
