How to Long-Distance Cast Big Baits

Oliver Ngy takes us on a quick crash course in the importance of long distance casting, and how to achieve distance with big baits. Big horizontally-retrieved lures like swimbaits and crankbaits are at their best at running depth on a long cast.

This does a couple things:
1) increases the chance that you'll bring the lure by a fish
2) gives a big bass time to track or follow the lure, which increases the chance that it'll commit.

This long-distance pendulum casting technique was perfected in saltwater, and will maximize your casting distance in freshwater with oversized bass, striper, and pike and musky lures.
