In the USA, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was injured in his right ear as a result of gunshot-like explosions while speaking at the podium during his election rally in Pennsylvania. In the images shared on social media, while Trump was speaking at the podium in Butler city of the state, an explosion similar to seven gunshots was heard. After the first explosion, Trump was seen holding his right ear at the podium. As the explosions continued, guards jumped onto the podium and surrounded Trump. The explosions also caused panic among citizens attending the rally. Trump was seen raising his fist in the air, with blood running down his right cheek, before bodyguards removed him from the podium. While panic continued in the rally area, the guards urgently took Trump to his armored vehicle. Donald Trump, in his first statement after the incident, said, "I am fine and I am undergoing a medical examination." shared his statement.
Trump's spokesman said: "Trump thanks the guards and first responders who acted quickly during this heinous act. He is in good condition and is being checked out at a local medical facility."
The US Secret Service reported that former US President Donald Trump was under protection and safe after the incident during his election campaign in Pennsylvania. US Secret Service Spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi shared a message on his X social media account. Stating that "an incident occurred" during Trump's election campaign in Pennsylvania, Guglielmi said, "The Secret Service has protected the former President and he is safe." gave the information.
