This entertaining thriller from Frank Launder and Sidney Gilliat borrows its blend of comedy and suspense from their own spy caper Night Train to Munich. Douglas Fairbanks Jr stars as a surgeon lured to the Balkan state of Vosnia after its dictator is wounded in an assassination attempt. When his patient dies, Fairbanks has to take to the hills with plucky Glynis Johns at his side. Vosnia is straight out of an A-Z of clichés, but Gilliat directs with plenty of panache and the location photography is stunning.
