Next up was local P68 with cars for Cemex. It headed north and got its work done, led by High Hood NS (ex-SOU) GP38AC 2873 with a beautiful P5 horn and NS (ex-NW GP38AC) GP38-2 5573 with an equally nice P5 of its own! P68 charged north through Buford, its heritage horn blaring through town, and another surprise came up. This time, it was local P48, the Gainesville to Flowery Branch switcher. What it was doing south of FB, we don't know. But we do know what's coming up, and we decide to follow it. At 12:00 noon, NS P48 started up and accelerated northward with NS OLS C40-9W 9251, NS C40-9W 9426, and a good cut of loaded grain hoppers. We decided to chase...
