Every day, scientists at the Nuclear and Chemical Science Division of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) tackle nuclear security and nuclear forensics challenges to make our nation and the world a safer place. They also study some of the smallest particles in our universe to find solutions to complex challenges like climate resilience, the availability of freshwater resources, and how to sequester carbon in our soil.
Livermore researchers use cutting-edge experimental tools to support this research, including LLNL’s particle accelerators and neutron imaging tools, along with resources that help them study extraterrestrial material, radioactive isotopes, and neutrinos.
