This is a personal audio/video homage to John Williams' exquisite and vibrant trumpet solos as written and heard in several of his film scores. Williams' love of this instrument is well-known, as many of his signature tunes are written for the trumpets section. He also composed a Trumpet Concerto in 1996 for Cleveland Orchestra's Principal Trumpet Michael Sachs.
A special mention to the great soloists who played in the scores heard in these selections: Tim Morrison (JFK, Born on the 4th of July, Amistad, Nixon), Maurice Murphy (Superman, Dracula, Monsignor), Malcolm McNab (Jaws 2) and Christopher Martin (Lincoln).
All the excerpts are taken from the original film recordings.
