GPT-4o excels in these areas, consistently performing in the 90th percentile on difficult exams. It provides not only accurate answers but also interactive guidance, enhancing users' problem-solving capabilities rather than just giving direct solutions.
Input Interpretation Skills
ChatGPT-3.5 is limited to text inputs, which restricts its usability. GPT-4o, also known as 'Omni,' processes text, audio, and visual inputs in real-time. This capability allows GPT-4o to analyze and understand complex graphs, images, memes, and audio inputs seamlessly, making it a more versatile tool for a wide range of applications.
Contextual Understanding and Dialogue Management
ChatGPT-3.5 can retain up to 3,000 words of context, which is suitable for shorter interactions but struggles with longer conversations. GPT-4o, however, can handle up to 128,000 tokens of context. This significant increase allows GPT-4o to maintain coherence over extended discussions, making it more effective for complex and lengthy dialogues.
Response Efficiency
ChatGPT-3.5 generates tokens at approximately 73 milliseconds each, with the Turbo version at about 34 milliseconds each. GPT-4o, on the other hand, processes tokens at an average of 320 milliseconds each. Despite being slower, the quality and depth of responses provided by GPT-4o are superior, ensuring more contextually rich and accurate interactions.
