Uqbah bin Nafeh...The epic of Africa's conquest and Morocco's countries
"O Lord, had it not been for this sea, I would have gone through the country striving for you.. Oh God, I testify that I have reached the maximum of my efforts, and had it not been for this sea, I would have gone through the country fighting those who disbelieved in God, so that no one would be worshiped except you".
When talking about the Islamic conquests, we should stop at a man who was credited with the conquest of North Africa and the countries of Morocco and the spread of Islam in it.
Today we will turn the pages of Islamic history to stop at a bright page from the pages of the greatest conquerors, namely, "Uqbah bin Nafeh", who grew up in a purely Islamic environment, and got involved in the Jihad Islamic movement early, so he participated in the conquest of (Egypt), then he went to (Nubia) to pave the way for those who came after him to conquer the country And then he led a combat battalion to study the possibility of North Africa's conquest. He participated in the conquest of Tunisia, and assumed the position of commander of the garrison of (Cyrenaica), until it was in the year 49 AH when it was decided to send "Uqbah bin Nafeh" to complete the conquests in North Africa, so "Uqbah bin Nafeh" set out to purify that region from the influence of the Romans and the Berber tribes, and builds the city of (Kairouan), from which the Islamic armies can launch a conqueror, so "Uqbah bin Nafeh" conquered (Baghaya, Tlemcen and Arba), and he continued Jihad until his conquests reached the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, and perhaps he was hoping to open more, except that he was martyred in the year 63 AH to bring the curtain down on one of the greatest conquerors in Islamic history.
