Today I decided to review all nuclear power plants in Russia. A total of 11 nuclear power plants at the end of last year for the first time produced more than 20% of the country's total electricity. At the same time, even a Soviet-era record was set in absolute production indicators - more than 215 billion kWh.

I tried to briefly tell you about each of the domestic nuclear power plants. This is a popular review through the eyes of a reactor engineer, so I will try to show the features of each of these stations, which reactors have worked or are working at each of them, what technologies have been mastered at them, and what is their role in the domestic nuclear power industry. I have been to many of these nuclear power plants, so I diluted the story with personal impressions.

So from this video you can find out who was the first to build nuclear power plants - the USSR or the USA, how nuclear power plants differ from reactors for producing plutonium, when the largest nuclear power plant in our country is operating in Siberia, what are the features of VVER, RBMK, BN reactors or EGP-6.

Old NPPs mentioned in the video: Obninsk NPP, Siberian NPP, ADE-3 at the MCC.

Operating stations mentioned in the video:
Beloyarsk NPP, Novovoronezh NPP, Kola NPP, Bilibinskaya NPP, FNPP Akademik Lomonosov, Leningrad NPP (1 and 2), Kursk NPP (1 and 2), Smolensk NPP, Kalinin NPP, Balakovskaya NPP, Rostov NPP.

Unfinished NPPs:
Voronezh AST, Gorkovskaya AST, Bashkir NPP, South Ural NPP, Kostroma NPP, Baltic NPP.
