Fisher Investments’ Ken Fisher Reviews the Implications of Returning to a Pre-pandemic Economy

Fisher Investments’ founder, Executive Chairman and Co-Chief Investment Officer, Ken Fisher, discusses what returning to a pre-pandemic global economy could mean for stocks. Ken says many economic indicators—such as gross domestic product (GDP) growth, unemployment data and inflation—are near, or at, pre-pandemic levels. The notable exceptions to this trend are higher interest rates and Fed policy.

However, Ken believes investor fears around central bank policy and the future of the economy are misguided. He shares how central bank forward guidance isn’t always reliable and often changes. While he also acknowledges the economy isn’t perfect, he thinks a return to pre-pandemic levels would be an upside surprise to many investors—a positive for stocks.
