2017 Ford Focus Unboxing - Basic Is Not Always Boring

For today's unboxing review we bring you the 2017 Ford Focus SE sedan. Yes, finally, the sedan is getting some attention. Remember, the Focus hatchback has also been transformed into the ST and RS hot hatchbacks, but we felt the sedan needed the spotlight for once. Our SE tester is nearly the base model and yet we were quite impressed with its standard features, power and overall fun-to-drive factor. Quick translation: a basic compact sedan doesn't have to be rental car boring. Power comes from a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter inline-four with 160 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque, with power going to the front wheels through the optional ($1,095) six-speed dual-clutch transmission. For less than a $1,000 more, our tester also came with the Cold Weather Package, Power Seat Package, and SiriusXM Radio. Not bad. Even the exterior and interior design look and feel premium. The days of the old Ford Escort are long gone. And, if you're a super careful and conservative driver, you can manage to achieve 40 mpg. Not bad for a car that came to a grand total of $22,395.
