Hiking the Amboy Crater off Route 66 (4K)

The Amboy Crater is a large cinder cone that is located south of the Mojave National Preserve along historic Route 66. The 3-mile round trip hike takes you to the top of the crater and provides amazing views of the desert landscape covered in lava rock. Do not hike this in the summer though.
