Judge Dredd Origins - Ultra-Violent Ruthless Judge, Jury And Executioner Bringing Justice In Future

Judge Dredd was first published in the British Anthology Sci-Fi comic magazine 2000AD in their second edition back in 1977 and the rest is history. It was quite rare for British comic storyline’s to survive beyond 12 to 16 episodes and Judge Dredd’s lie detector didn’t contribute to elongating the story but rather served fast justice. The story of Judge Dredd is set in Mega-City One in the distant future of the 22nd century. In the post-apocalyptic world, only a handful of cities are inhabitable including Mega-City One set on the western coast of the USA and the rest is toxic wasteland called the cursed earth, inhabited by the less desirables and mutants. What you need to know about Judge Dredd is that he is the law. The laws of the dystopian city are governed by the clones of former chief judges who act like the cops and serve as judge, jury and executioner. Each of them has a handgun called the Lawgiver that is activated by their DNA and it will explode in the wrong hands.
