Our pet ducks are Pekin Ducks, which let us pet,handle, and feed them by hand.  



Many people probably think having a duck as a pet in your backyard is unusual, since most parents don't even think about having ducks as pets. But what people don't realize is that ducks can actually be great pets, loyal friends, and excellent companions for a family. Ducks do require a great deal of work to provide them with a cozy home when their young, since when their babies, they should be kept indoors. The cost of a pet ducks food and shelter will not be as high as some other common pets, since ducks are natural animals.
In terms of aggression, some ducks may sometimes display a violent pecking behavior, so never leave a little child unsupervised with your duck. However, ducks are mostly gentle and might become bonded to your child. Ducks can be handled and petted and sometimes they might even fall asleep if you sing. This is one of the reasons ducks might be great pets for children. Ducks do make a lot of noise though, so if your neighbors are bothered by the quacks and honks and decide to contact animal control, your ducks might be transported away from you. Overall, ducks are great pets which might become your good friend.
