In England at the beginning of the 90s, Margaret Thatcher's Criminal Justice Bill banned gatherings around electronic music, the "rave party". The most committed aficionados leave the country to continue to live their passion. Among them, the mythical "Spiral Tribe" begins to crisscross Europe. From his model, groups are formed in France, Czech Republic, Italy (other countries) and create a new means of expression. The "Free Party", a free, illegal, alternative party, which brings together a marginal and libertarian public.
In France, free festivals are unknown to the general public. A few hundred, even one or two thousand participants take advantage of these temporary autonomy zones (cf. Hakim Bey, TAZ / Temporary Autonomous Zone) imported by English travelers. At the same time, the French state, following the English model, represses legal techno parties, and pushes the "ravers" underground. Many of them are joining the ranks of the brand new "Free Parties" movement. A few years after the arrival of the English, a French collective made its debut. The "Heretik" define themselves as "not subscribing to the established doctrine".
