Moment of inertia theorems: There are two theorems related to moment of inertia called 1. Parallel axes theorem and 2.Perpendicular axis Theorem. If we know the Moment of inertia of a regular shaped body about an axis then its moment of inertia about different other axes can be determined using these theorems.
Objectives:
To know the knowledge and understanding of the concept of Parallel axes theorem, the concept of Perpendicular axes theorems and understanding its applications.
Principle of Parallel and Perpendicular axis:-
There are two general theorems or principles of inertia which sometimes enable us to determine the moment of inertia of a body about an axis when the moment of inertia about some other axis known.
