(10 Nov 2020) One of Bosnia's two regions have introduced an overnight curfew in a bid to put under control soaring infections with the new coronavirus in the crisis-ridden Balkan nation.
Authorities in the Bosnian Federation said on Tuesday that only people with special permits will be allowed outside from 11p.m in the evening and 5a.m. in the morning.
The crisis team also limited gatherings to up to 30 people inside or outside.
Deputy Health Minister Goran Cerkez complained that many political gatherings were being held ahead of this weekend local elections as well as concerts and parties in night clubs.
He criticized the police and health inspections for being soft in implementing anti-virus rules.
A country of 3.3 million people, Bosnia has reported record numbers for weeks which has burdened the Balkan country's weak health system, devastated during the 1992-95 war.
