This video is a mix, or mashup, consisting of several variations on the battle music "A Funeral of Flowers" from the Fire Emblem series. It consists of soundtracks from the Nintendo Switch titles Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.

The song “A Funeral of Flowers” immaculately captures a strong sentiment of grief and loss in the chaos of battle. As the drums of war beat for the last time, the final battle is undoubtedly here. The spirit of the song initially expresses a sense of epicness. The conclusion of the war is undeniably grand; triumph draws ever so close. Whereas a new tomorrow is just within reach, the past continues to drift farther away into the vault of history—and the recollection of loss and pain of regret is stolen away by time’s flow. What remains is just one foe—one familiar foe, that is. As madness shatters the bond that once held strong between allies, there only seems to be one choice left—to kill. To slay the very being that you strived to save. As death sweeps the battlefield and the earth is endlessly stained red, one cannot help but be reminded of what has been lost. A theme identical to “The Edge of Dawn” recurs within the tune, a despairing melody that captures the cries of the fallen Flame Emperor. The toll does not cease there, however, as the other lords have escaped to beyond—or the great beyond. Fortunately, a friend still remains—on the enemy side. As the song climaxes with a wailing motif parallel to the “Song of the Nabateans,” the ancient origins of the Immaculate One appear undeniably unwanted; the suffering that had to be endured and tragedy of long ago weigh immensely as a burden. Relief from misery is the only comfort one holds when faced with the duty to defeat the divine archbishop, once adorned with beautiful flowers and now a menacing beast. Engaging in battle only reveals a sentimental piano arrangement that sharply contrasts the once grand battle anthem. Its sharp duality captures the essence of sorrow when forced to rout the enemy. In the end, it is just one more loss—a singular death. Only one more has to meet their doom; only one more has to perish in the inferno of war. Although the weight of this decision sinkens one’s heart, the time to act is now. After everything that has already been lost to the flames of war, have you no choice but to achieve victory in this final battle—only to lose more to the hands of fate?
